Dr. Angelina Dedvukaj Salem, DDS | Holistic Dental House
Dr. Angelina Dedvukaj Salem, known to her patients as Dr. Angie, is the founder of Holistic Dental House in Farmington, Michigan. She is a biological, mercury-free and mercury-safe dentist who believes dentistry should look beyond the teeth and consider the health of the entire person.
Her philosophy is simple: the mouth is not separate from the body.
Dr. Angie combines biological and biomimetic principles with modern dental technology to provide care that is thoughtful, minimally invasive, and individualized to each patient. Rather than simply treating symptoms, she looks deeper to understand why problems are occurring and how oral conditions may be influencing overall health.
Biological & Whole-Body Dentistry
At Holistic Dental House, dentistry is approached through a whole-body lens. The teeth, gums, airway, jaw, oral microbiome, dental materials, infections, and surrounding structures can all play a role in a patient’s health and well-being.
Dr. Angie takes the time to evaluate these connections while creating treatment plans designed to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible and minimize unnecessary biological burden.
Patient education is a major part of her philosophy. She wants patients to understand their findings, their options, and the reasoning behind treatment recommendations so they can confidently make decisions that align with their personal health goals.
Mercury-Free & Mercury-Safe Dentistry
Holistic Dental House is both mercury-free and mercury-safe.
Dr. Angie does not place mercury amalgam fillings and has completed advanced education in the safe removal of existing amalgam restorations. She is SMART Certified through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and follows protective protocols designed to reduce mercury exposure to the patient, dental team, and environment during removal.
Safe amalgam removal may incorporate specialized isolation, high-volume evacuation, external air filtration, protective barriers, and other measures consistent with established mercury-safe principles.
Removing an amalgam filling is not simply about taking out the old material. Dr. Angie carefully evaluates the remaining tooth and restores it using metal-free, biocompatible materials while preserving healthy tooth structure whenever possible.
Biomimetic & Minimally Invasive Dentistry
Dr. Angie incorporates biomimetic dentistry, an approach centered on preserving natural tooth structure and restoring teeth in a way that more closely mimics the strength, function, and biomechanics of a natural tooth.
Whenever appropriate, conservative ceramic restorations such as inlays and onlays may be considered instead of unnecessarily removing additional healthy tooth structure for a traditional full-coverage crown.
Her goal is not simply to repair a tooth today, but to help maintain its strength and function for years to come.
Cosmetic Dentistry: Our approach creates natural, beautiful smiles while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible through carefully designed veneers with minimal tooth reduction. Dr. Angie also offers composite veneers and believes every patient should receive clear, complete information about their options, benefits, risks, and alternatives before moving forward with any cosmetic procedure.

Biocompatible & Metal-Free Materials
Materials matter.
Dr. Angie prioritizes biocompatible, mercury-free and metal-free restorative options whenever clinically appropriate. Material selection is considered as part of the patient’s overall treatment plan rather than simply choosing a restoration based on appearance alone.
For patients with sensitivities or specific health concerns, biocompatibility considerations can also be incorporated into treatment planning.
Root-Cause Focused Care
Symptoms are often the body’s way of communicating that something deserves attention.
Rather than looking at an individual tooth in isolation, Dr. Angie considers the broader picture—including dental infections, inflammation, periodontal health, bite and function, airway, oral bacteria, existing dental materials, and other factors that may contribute to disease.
Her goal is to identify and address underlying problems whenever possible instead of repeatedly treating their consequences.

Technology is never used simply because it is available. Dr. Angie believes it should have a purpose: helping provide better information, more conservative treatment, greater precision, or an improved patient experience.
A Different Kind of Dental Experience
Dr. Angie founded Holistic Dental House because she wanted to create the type of dental practice she would choose for her own family.
That means asking more questions, looking deeper, using materials thoughtfully, preserving healthy tooth structure, and giving patients the information they need to participate in their own care.
She believes dentistry should be collaborative rather than transactional.
Patients are encouraged to ask questions and understand their options. Treatment recommendations are made with consideration for both oral health and the potential impact on the rest of the body.
The practice itself was intentionally designed to feel calm, welcoming, and elevated—far removed from the traditional clinical dental environment.
Education & Advanced Training
Dr. Angie has pursued extensive continuing education in biological, holistic, restorative, biomimetic, and surgical dentistry.
Her professional education and affiliations include training through organizations dedicated to biological and mercury-safe dentistry, including the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM).
She is committed to continually advancing her knowledge as new research, materials, technologies, and biological approaches to dentistry evolve.
About Dr. Angie
Dr. Angelina Dedvukaj Salem earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Michigan and has spent years developing her approach to biological and whole-body dentistry.
Her passion for biological dentistry comes from a genuine belief that patients deserve to understand what is being placed in their bodies, why a treatment is being recommended, and what alternatives may be available.
At Holistic Dental House, her goal is to combine science, technology, biological principles, and compassionate care to create dentistry that is both sophisticated and deeply personalized.
Because your mouth isn’t separate from the rest of your body—and your dental care shouldn’t treat it like it is.
